I unfortunately bought a P915 printer from Lexmark and I regret it, I had a brand new
photo printer that would not print photos, in fact it wouldn't print anything if it had black
in it, all black print had a magenta block around it (see image below) which is pretty
limiting if you ever want to print a letter for instance, I contacted Lexmark Customer
Support (support ? that's a joke) and got a standard reply 2 weeks later telling me to do
ALL the stuff I had already done that is in the troubleshooting guide, I haven't heard from
them since.

I have however fixed the printer myself, the cartridges are also the print heads and it was a
substandard photo cartridge that was to blame, I tried my cartridge in someone else's
printer and his had the same problem. So I had to buy replacement cartridges for a brand
new printer and fix the problem myself, well done Lexmark, thanks for nothing.

BTM
Over the years I have had a lot of online encounters with other sites and most of it has
been good but every now and again I have encountered some really bad experiences so
this page is here to warn others what they may have to endure, obviously I can only relate
to you my dealings with them and it is up to you if you want to deal with them, I haven't
activated the links because I don't want to be responsible for guiding you into their path.

I made the mistake of ordering a Christmas present for someone from these people, if
you are ever unfortunate enough to visit their website you will see statements like "Worry
free shopping
", "Dedicated service representative" and "Back to basics service" but
sadly these statements didn't apply to my order, I ordered the item that was advertised as
" In Stock" and was given an estimated delivery of 1 to 3 days, I never got it but they did
take the money from my account, strangely within 1 to 3 days. I got an e-mail confirming
the order I placed and also got another e-mail telling me the product I was trying to buy
was "selling out FAST" in which they also told me they would contact me if there was
going to be any further delay, I haven't heard from them since.

I finally got the item 3 days after Christmas, the item in question is very small, approx 3
inches long, it was delivered in a small jiffy bag marked 2nd class and postage cost
£3.50, £3.50 for a tiny item that was intended as a Christmas gift that took weeks to arrive
and finally came AFTER Christmas, I can't help feeling I was stitched up on this one and
after quite a few attempts to contact them I still haven't had a reply, my advice to people
would be this AVOID POPCORN LIKE THE PLAGUE !

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought long and hard before adding Amazon to the bad link list because I have
had a lot of items from them over the years and everything has until now been fine,
but when something goes wrong their customer service is dreadful, when you have
an account with Amazon they quite often recommend items they think you may be
interested in based on goods you have bought off them before, to this effect they
recommended an item I thought would be perfect as a Christmas gift so I ordered
it in November, I waited well beyond the estimated delivery date for the item and
logged into my Amazon account to use the order tracking service to find out what
had happened to it, to my surprise it had not even been despatched so I used the
online form to ask why, the reply was equally surprising as I was informed that
they could not supply the item, it was suggested by them that I try a third party
vendor on Amazon which I did, that led me into the clutches of Popcorn ( see
next bad link ). When it became clear that Popcorn refused to answer e-mail and
were not going to get the gift to me before Christmas I got back in touch with
Amazon who told me to give it until 27th December before they would look into it,
27th December for an Item I informed them was a Christmas gift ? Popcorn to be
blunt are useless and if you look at the buyer feedback there are a lot of people
being let down by them but the initial problem was Amazon's so I asked Amazon
some questions I though were quite reasonable under the circumstances.

1:- Why did Amazon recommend an item they couldn't supply ?

2:- Why was the item shown as "In Stock" when they didn't have it ?

3:- Why did I have to contact Amazon to find out they couldn't supply the item ?
Surely they should have contacted me.

4:- Why did Amazon keep telling me to sort it out with the vendor when I told
them on many occasions that Popcorn NEVER reply ?

5:- Why was it seen as reasonable for me to wait until 27th December 2006 when
they had been informed it was a Christmas gift ?

Unfortunately after a lot of correspondence they have still not answered these
questions as they keep dodging the issue like politicians, I am sick of big
companies like this thinking they can just fob you off with stock reply e-mail so I
wrote a letter to Mr Brian McBride, Managing director of Amazon UK (strangely
no e-mail address can be found for him, I wonder why ? ) I got an e-mail reply
from one of his minions as he must be too grand to reply in person, the minion
dodged the questions like all the others and after replying to him reaffirming my
desire to have my questions answered he has not replied either.

So in summary if you use Amazon and all goes well you will get some good deals
but if anything goes wrong you may as well talk to the wall as they have an
enormous amount of stock e-mail replies that dodge the issues you want
addressing and they don't seem to be able to grasp the concept that they might be
responsible for poor service.
