After a major system crash it looked like this year's installment wasn't going to see the
light of day as the hard drive on the computer with all the Prezzie Hunt files on it died,
fortunately after a lot of hard work and the use of an external drive reader I managed to
salvage quite a lot of data from it and have finally got a working version of Prezzie Hunt
onto a new drive, so today I decided to press on with a new level, here are some early
screen shots.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I get such a lot of e-mail about Prezzie Hunt I have decided to add a
news page to keep anyone who is interested informed of what is happening with it,
the most current news is at the bottom of this page.

October 2007

As last year there has been enough requests for a new level so I will be starting
on it in the near future and if all goes to plan the 3rd installment will be released in
time for Christmas.

Publisher
Last month I was contacted by a publisher wanting me to make approximately 20
levels and in his words "market the game properly" which would mean charging
for it but that isn't going to happen, Prezzie Hunt has always been Freeware and
always will be, I realise that it is a chance to make a bit of money but the fact that it
is on many websites and the download figures are very high doesn't mean that it
will sell, because it is free is the main reason most people download it, of course if
anyone wants to send me some money I am pretty sure I could find a use for it.

Fan Game
Recently I was contacted Alex Furbush who is the self professed number 1 fan of
Prezzie Hunt, he likes it so much that he asked if it would be OK for him to make a
2D version of the game and put it on YOYO games, of course I said yes, I have
never had a fan game made before and it is much appreciated, if you want to
check it out the game is here and you can either download it or play it online.

Platform Game
Before Alex contacted me I had started a 2D platform version myself and as
Alex's version is a top down maze type game I have decided to carry on with it, I
am using Blitz to make it and as I am learning the language as I go don't expect the
finished game anytime soon, below are a couple of early screenshots.

Finally started making the new level today 15th November, I am going to have to get a
move on if it is to be ready for Christmas. 15

Did quite a bit today, here are a couple of screenshots.

Halfway done, with a bit of luck it should be ready for upload by 10th Dec.

December 13th 2007

Version 3 now ready for download, see you next year maybe.

October 24th 2008

There have not been many requests for a new level this year, certainly not enough for me
to spend any time on this project so Prezzie Hunt has come to the end of it's run.

November 4th 2008

Since posting the above news I have been inundated with requests for a new level, if I
get time I will make it but it is getting a bit late to get it out for Christmas as I have other
projects that need attention, when I finished last year's level I made a transitional section
for a new level so I have a starting point if I do get time to make Level 4. Thanks for all
the compliments for the game that came with the requests and a special mention for
Ruth Hoyle who offered to pay for a new level, as I have mentioned before Prezzie Hunt
is a FREEWARE game and always will be but it was a nice gesture.

December 2nd 2008

OK I give in, no more e-mails asking for a new level please, I have started and have
approximately 50% done, here are some new screenshots to tide you over.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

December 9th 2008

Version 4 released with a new level, as usual there are gamesaves at the end of all
previous levels so you can start on any level you want.

See you next Christmas.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

December 9th 2009

This year's version with 5 levels is now released, there are now 2 downloads, a zipped
version and an installable version, as usual there are game saves at the end of each
previous level so you can start on any level you want but your own old game saves will
no longer work as I had to rescript the whole lighting system because of the hard drive
crash, the lighting file was one of those that were corrupt on the old drive. Have fun.
